Senator Ann Rivers became 18th Legislative District state senator in mid-2012 after Joseph Zarelli decided to step down after 17 years of service. She had been serving the people of the district already in the House of Representatives.  As State Representative, Ann was the assistant whip for the House Republican Caucus. She also served on the House’s Business and Financial Services Committee, Judiciary Committee, Transportation Committee and Rules Committee. The Rules Committee decides which bills to send to a vote on the House floor.

After taking office in 2010 as State Representative, Ann kept her campaign promise to make audits a part of the budgeting process. She will continue to work that legislation until it becomes law. Ann also committed to work to reduce regulations and taxes and voted on numerous occasions to do just that.

She is active in the community, belonging to Greater Clark County Rotary and other organizations and volunteering for events such as the American Cancer Society’s West Clark County Relay for Life (publicity chairwoman); also she has served or is serving on the board of directors for several organizations, including Innovate Washington.

Following the presentations, there will be time for questions.
