Driving Miss Daisy had won the Oscar. The Berlin Wall had just come down. And Jan Vis opened Hampton Auto Glass. It was October 1989, and with ten years of auto glass experience and a lot of hard work, this mom-and-pop shop opened their doors on the corner of 78th Street and Hazel Dell Avenue – in an old automotive industrial park that was formerly called “Gasoline Alley.”
This family owned and operated business consisted of Jan, his wife Colleen, and their four children, who would help out around the shop on regular occasion. Jan and Colleen set out with the goal to provide their community with quality auto glass services in Vancouver, including cutting glass for old cars, windshield replacement, repairing leaks, rock chip repair, and other related services.
Thirty years and a few locations later Hampton Auto Glass now operates off of Highway 99 in the heart of Hazel Dell. Hampton Auto Glass has a great history, and now sets its sights on the future. Jan has moved into retirement (mostly), while his son Jon has taken over the business. Jon has worked many years at Hampton Auto Glass and is committed to providing the same quality services you’ve come to expect from Jan over the past 30 years.
Jon and his core team of experienced professionals continue their diligent work to bring customers new technologies such as windshield calibration, and other technology-driven services associated with today’s advanced cars. Hampton Auto Glass, a second-generation auto glass shop that takes pride in serving the people of this community for the past 30 years.
