As you likely know, area food banks are facing critical shortages of food. Clark County Fire District 6 wants to help.
Starting April 8, Clark County Fire District 6 is locating food barrels outside of their three area stations. People can drop off non-perishable food items, and when the barrels are full the items will be taken to the Clark County Foodbank and then the barrels returned to the stations for more donations. The barrels are located outside the front doors and the no-contact donation sites are accessible from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
Station locations are:
Station 61: 8800 NE Hazel Dell Avenue, Vancouver
Station 62: 11600 NW Lakeshore Road, Vancouver
Station 63: 1303 NE 136th Street, Vancouver
Foodbank volunteers say they mostly need canned protein, peanut butter, and shelf-stable foods.
