For the 27th consecutive year, every year since 1988, Clark Regional Wastewater District has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The certificate of achievement recognizes excellence and transparency in financial reporting and governmental accounting. The award is granted by the Government Finance Officers Association (‘GFOA’) for the District’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for fiscal year 2014.
The CAFR is developed to provide meaningful financial information to the public who are interested in the District’s financial position at fiscal year-end. In addition to the financial statements, it provides information pertaining to the District’s activities through the year and upcoming events, allowing readers themselves to gain a broader overview of the financial decisions of the District.
“The District’s Finance Director/Treasurer, Ken Andrews, and the rest of our team are to be recognized for their hard work in preparing an award winning CAFR year after year and for maintaining a standard of excellence in financial reporting,” John Peterson, General Manager
Each year the District voluntarily submits the CAFR to GFOA for review and consideration. To qualify for the award, the District must receive a clean audit opinion from the Washington State Auditor’s Office. GFOA established the award program to encourage and ultimately recognize state and local governments who operate in a spirt of financial transparency and full disclosure.
